Capcom Makes UMVC3, MVC exhaustion official

Not particularly close.

Look, Capcom, I can't be mad at you for announcing a newer, better Marvel vs Capcom 5 months after the original was launched. For one, we know the story of the scorpion and the frog. If someone thought the creators of Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo: HD Remix to be beyond remaking  the latest game, they don't know their history. For another one, I never bought Vanilla MVC3 because I'm poor.

However, I can't get on the hype train anymore.  I've done it all. I made movements. I told L.I.E.S.(And more and more L.I.E.S). I freaking outed a character before he came out. THERE ISN'T ANYMORE LEFT TO GIVE, CAPCOM.

So you announced Ghost Rider(who was previously declared too punchy) Strider(Who was previously said not to work in game) Firebrand(a former background character) and Hawkeye. And there's still 8 characters to guess. No flights of fancy and no pictures this time, the other 8 characters are probably Cable(for pissing me off) Dr Octopus(Info in disk),  Frank West(same as last), Ken(because people are stupid), Spider-Woman(because Marvel likes) Virgil(Fans are stupid) Iceman, and Megaman Dan. Tiffany Lords isn't in, Lin Kurosawa isn't in, none of the characters I want are in.

I'm not trying to be a drag, I expect the game to be good. But I can't muster up more imagination. It's all been washed away by the cynism of real life...what? Leaked Roster, you say? Wright is in? Dr Strange?

I might just start hyping again.

The Phoenix Wright Moveset pitch

SO CLOSE!

(Confirmation of Phoenix Wright means this is obsolete and that Capcom's actual moves are probably a million times better. However, it also proves the bigger point that it's possible.)
MVC3 is so close, I wish I had money to buy it, or an Xbox to play it. I have feverishly followed the games development, from initial rumors to the leaks. Hell, I did a spot or two of leaking, myself.

But one of the most pervasive debates is regarding Phoenix Wright. One of the most hotly demanded characters, he is also one of the most fought against by some. They say that Phoenix(not the one that's in) can't be in the game because he is not a fighter. Examples are pointed out of characters that where never fighters as a rebuttal. Movesets are offered. The debate rages on.

I will admit, as essentially an anime character, Phoenix would make more sense in TvC 2, if that was a real game that was going to exist. But let's not discount the old Marvel series. I want to show you how I would make  the Ace Attorney for MVC 3.

Sure, I'm no Availation, and this isn't exactly indepth. Heck, I've only beat most of the first game. But We all gotta start somewhere, right?  Let's get rolling!

Let us start with the intro. Wright stands behind a court podium that falls down and breaks, bothering him, and setting the tone for his character..

Standing pose.  He's fairly confident.

Walk Forward. Again, confident.

 Walk Back. Less confident

Crouch. He kneels, and looks at some papers

Attacks after the jump

Normal moves

Air Strong attack: Phoenix bonks the opponent in th ehead with a thinker statue, which was fatal for two PW characters

Air Mid: Wright swipes while trying to catch a loose paper.

weak air: Wright looks at paper, hits opponent with his hand.

Down Strong: Phoenix Dives with his briefcase. It's a slide attack.

Down Mid Wright hits with brad side of the briefcase.

Down Weak: Wright looks at paper.

Air rave: Wright opens a briefcase, launching his opponent up if the briefcase hits them.

Strong Stand: Wright swing his briefcase.

Stand mid: Wright shows opponent paper.

Stand Weak: Wright looks at paper

Special Moves
Magatama Strike: If opponent is hit, they go into Psychelock mode, in which they can't block
Papers in the wind. An antiair technique that sends a whirlwind of papers  flying from his briefcase.

Evidence throw: Phoenix throws evidence that  stuns the opponent. Evidence depends on who is active on the other team I.E. Spiderman's would be a pic of Aunt May, Wesker's would be an empty T virus vial..

Objection: A counter move. If hit, Wright yells his trademark phrase and sends the opponent flying.
Hyper Moves
Hyper Paper Whirlwind: a Stronger version of  the paper whirlwind.

Final Objection: Busty Blond Mia Fey pops up and blasts the opponent away with spirit magic.

Gavel Nightmare: a giant gavel shows up out of nowhere and blasts across the screen. Sure, that was only  nightmare, but according to Ken, so was Marvel vs Street Fighter.

Winpose: Heh...Didn't know I had it in me!

This list is far from complete(or proffesional) but don't forget that if I can think of a foundation for Wrights moves, why can't a proffesional who's payed in more than comments and clicks?

My DLC picks for Marvel vs Capcom 3

Which reminds me it's almost mango season over here...

We're on our final stretch of MVC3 watch, with only short weeks before Capcom takes us all for a ride. I say the roster is mostly full of great choices so far.

But...rumor has it the final reveals are...very sad. Akuma and Sentinel in. Megaman and Bison out.

I think it's an unfortunate choice to put Akuma in when Bison offers so much more in gameplay terms. And Sentinel...I would rather Cable be in. You can't please the Tier whores unless you make him God King of the Dojo again. And who wants that?

So we pin our hopes on DLC. I'm a little wary of it. They already announced Jill "The Master of Unlocking" and Shuma "Been in all of 12 comics" Gorath are in the download pipeline, together costing less than 20 bucks. I don't feel this is ripoff only in that Jill and Shuma are completely unessential to me. Seriously thought they weren't gonna make it and I did not give a damn.

But which Characters I would pay for, though, read on!

The Thing
Lousy, no good crossovers...

Some would argue that Thing would be far too similar to Hulk in  moves. Those people would probably argue against She Hulk being in, so they have no bearing here. I think The Thing's  major difference should be his resistance: He should be superarmored, which I think Hulk is not.

 Misty Knight
Happy non-lethal retaliation day!

Misty Knight is Marvel's Blaxsploitation inspired female character. She is a bionic armed African American lady with Big hair and a bionic arm and kung fu skills. In an era where people don't think  movies like Sucker Punch or Cowboys and Aliens are too tacky to exist, who can argue that Misty Knight shouldn't be in MVC3?

Ultron
Quick test: Why would a robot SIT?

Ultron is a robot who wants to erradicate all life. I think Ultron's time to shine fast aproaches, and he would indeed be better than Sentinel.

 Amadeus Cho
That face tattoo really brings out the woman in you!

Amadeus Cho is a super-genius Asian of sorts. His inventions and wit have made him an internet favorite. So he's awesome ,but not a lot of media to show. D'Oh!
Alas, poor Antman. I knew him. He was a man of gaudy taste who once slapped his wife.

 Sigma
Sigma, voiding Zero's warranty

Sigma is a robot who wants to erradicate all life. I think Sigma's time to shine fast aproaches, and he would indeed be better than Akuma.

Sigma has taken many forms duting his tenure. While his moves should encompass a anything he did in the Megaman X series short of giant robot forms, his original Green armored dude with a lightsaber is my choice of look.

 Vanessa Schneider
She's a Private Dancer! Dance until Morning! Shoot at some robots and things!

Vanessa is from the Gamecube 3rd person P.N.03. While the game hasn't exactly become Capcom's signature game, the main character's style, fighting and  attacking enemies while gyrating to the beat, would be crazy awesome to have in this game. A flipping, shaking rhythmical fighter! How cool would that be?

Linn Kurosawa
I'd be scared to see someome that happy draw a sword.

Not a chance!? I know! But...hear me out! Linn Kurosawa is great! She can like, cut people up with a Katana!  w.. Oh you already have that? She can , like SHOOT with guns that...Oh, that too. Still, she is awesome, and Cameod around Capcom for many yea...Oh, you are right! I already said all this in my old post. It still stands for reason she's an interesting character who could balance the new faces.

Phoenix Wright
Still Waiting...

Opinion polls confirm Phoenix Wright is one of the most sought after characters for this game. This is it, Capcom. It's money, sitting across your table. I know yo tried to put him in other games and failed. But now the time is ripe. With DLC, you have time to nail whatever it is wasn't working down. Some people think a lawyer with no fighting skills would be ridiculous in a fighting game. And I agree.

That is exactly what would make it awesome.

He'd be  a new Jin, a new Capt. Falcon. After this, no one will wonder what  Phoenix Wright would be like in a fighting game. No one would imagine a fighing game without Phoenix Wright.
